The fourth edition of the Global Political Risk Index shows that the outlook for both India and its neighbour Pakistan is negative. Mint has partnered with Eurasia Group to bring out GPRI—a monthly index that is a composite measure of the state of a country’s government, society, security and economy.
GPRI measures a country’s ability to absorb political shocks—the higher the number, the more stable the country. In a study of 24 emerging market economies this month, India is at No. 12, up from No. 13 in September.
