Shimla: Himachal Government has identified 532 villages with more than 1000 populations for extending banking facilities under second phase of Financial inclusion Plan 2013, State chief secretary Rajwant Sandhu said here today.
Inaugurating the 120th State level Bankers Committee meeting here she said that the Banks has surpassed the targets under Annual Credit Plan for the fiscal 2010-11, witnessing total disbursement of Rs 6912 crore for 3.02 lakh new units in the State.
She said the highest achievement was recorded under (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise) sector wherein Rs 1641 crore were disbursed while urging the banks to enhance the flow of credit to Agriculture and cover all the farmer households under Kisan Credit Card Scheme.
She asserted the State Government was committed to bring in significant improvement in core sector such as education, health, social service, women empowerment, micro finance, environment protection and employment generation.
Sandhu said that the Government of India had formulated a New scheme National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) for rural development which was expected to be implemented from 2012.
She said the state government had made an enhanced credit deployment of Rs. 7547 crore under Annual Credit Plan (ACP) 2011-12 with increase of 28% over the last year. Agriculture sector got the highest increase at 33 per cent, touching Rs. 2479 crore under the ACP, Sandhu added.
