Indian Air Force’s Unmanned Aerial Vehicle crashes in Barmer
The UAV which took off from Jaisalmer airbase, immediately developed a engine issue and crashed
Barmer: An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) of Indian Air Force on Friday crashed after developing an engine problem at Akoda village, 30km north west of Barmer district in Rajasthan around 2pm, a top IAF official said.
UAV-HERON which took off from Jaisalmer airbase, immediately developed problem in starting of engine and crashed on land after falling from height, wing commander S.S. Birdi, public relations officer (PRO) Indian Air Force Delhi told PTI over phone.
“It was carrying qualified equipment and cameras. A court of inquiry has been ordered into the UAV crash," he said. There was no damage to civil property and human life as the UAV fell on the open land.
