Elections, not IPL should be the priority: CPI(M)
New Delhi: The CPI(M) on Monday said that elections should be the top priority of the government but asked it to work out a schedule so that the tournament can be held in the country itself.
Elections should be the top priority but the government should explore possibilities of holding the IPL in the country itself, party Politburo member Brinda Karat said.
“Elections must be the priority. Within this priority, the government should work out a schedule so that IPL can be played in India," Karat said here.
She was responding to a question about the BCCI decision to organise the second edition of the IPL in a foreign country because of security issues in India.
