M.F. Husain’s artwork has been both revered and criticized on a number of occasions and by various people. And while there are many who fail to fully understand his artwork and some who are attempting to, his art continues to be celebrated and appreciated, long after his death.
As homage to this man, a group of 27 artists participated in an exhibition organized by art curator Archana Banerjee in New Delhi. From sculptures, mix-media paintings to oil and water canvases, the exhibition consisted of a vast range of works, carefully chosen to represent the diversity embodied by M. F Husain’s work. The display, as the artists put it, was their attempt at understanding Husain’s work and paying their respects to him.
