NEW DELHI: The Planning Commission has fixed the Annual Plan of Delhi for 2007-08 at Rs9,000 crore on 5 March.
The Plan size was agreed at a meeting between Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia and state Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
Ahluwalia complimented the state for its achievements in the infrastructure and education sectors and asked it to make its infrastructure comparable to the best in the world to showcase Delhi as a world class capital during the Commonwealth Games 2010.
Dikshit said the major achievements during the Tenth Plan period included completion of metro, construction of 26 flyovers and commissioning of the first phase of 330 MW power generation plant.
She said during the 11th Plan, housing for economically weaker sections would be taken up on a priority basis and new modes of public transport would be introduced.
The Chief Minister said sewerage system will be provided in all villages and unauthorised colonies which are being regularised.
