New Delhi: The defence ministry could soon announce some changes to the offset policy, related mainly to the civil aerospace sector. These changes could relate to modifications of the list of civil aerospace products that are eligible for offsets.
A person in direct knowledge of the matter said that the defence ministry could include services to be considered under offsets. The new rules could also explicitly mention equipment upgrades to be considered as eligible for offsets.
In addition to this composites, forgings and castings for civil aerospace products, training aids, simulators, associated equipment, software and computer based training modules and guidance and navigation equipment could also be eligible for offsets.
Further, test facilities for the above equipment as well as software specially designed and developed for the above products could become eligible for offsets.
