BJD not to support Cong-led govt at Centre
Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janta Dal (BJD) on Saturday said it will not support a Congress-led government at the Centre and would like the new government to fulfil the “just" demands of Orissa.
“We have been repeatedly saying that we are not going to support a Congress-led or a BJP-led government at the Centre," BJD chief and Orissa chief minister Naveen Patnaik said here.
Reacting to the results of the Assembly elections in Orissa where BJD is set to form a government for the third consecutive term, Patnaik said that he was grateful to the people of the state for “showing tremendous generosity" to his party during the elections.
“I and my party will work with dedication and serve the people of Orissa," the chief minister said.
He alleged that successive governments at the Centre have been neglecting Orissa.“ I hope the next government will fulfil the just demands of Orissa," Patnaik said.
