New Delhi: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) launched a protest on Monday seeking the withdrawal of the proposed Prevention of Communal and Targeted Violence Bill’ describing it as “anti-Hindu” and “discriminatory”.
“As long as a court does not pronounce anyone guilty, a person is innocent. This government is trying to make a law beginning with the assumption that all Hindus are criminals,” VHP general secretary Pravin Togadia said at the protest. He also criticized the Sonia Gandhi-led National Advisory Council that prepared a draft of the Bill.
“We won’t let this law be made at any cost… We want the central government to assure that the Bill will not be cleared,” Togadia said.
