S. Jaishankar in Colombo for talks with Sri Lankan leadership
Foreign secretary S. Jaishankar will explore the possibilities for bilateral collaboration with Sri Lankan leaders in sectors like power, infrastructure and energy
Colombo: Foreign secretary S. Jaishankar on Saturday arrived in Colombo on a three-day visit during which he will explore the possibilities for bilateral collaboration with Sri Lankan leaders in sectors like power, infrastructure and energy.
Jaishankar will also review decisions taken during earlier meetings of the leaders of the two countries. He will be in Sri Lanka until 20 February. He will discuss the possibilities for cooperation in a number of sectors including power, highways, airport, and hydrocarbon.
“The visit will continue the tradition of close exchanges with Sri Lanka that has gained momentum in the last two years... The visit would help in taking stock on various decisions taken during the meetings between the two leaderships," external affairs ministry spokesman Vikas Swarup has said.
Jaishankar will visit China to attend the first round of India-China Strategic Dialogue on 22 February, after which he will be in Dhaka from 23-24 February.
