Chennai: The admission of Indian students in Australian universities is likely to go up this year.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Australian Education Fair here, the Australian universities funded IDP Australia’s Director Henry A.S. Ledlie said over 25,000 Indian students are pursuing their studies in Australia now. The number was likely to go up by 40% in the coming academic year.
Last year, a 18% growth in the admissions of Indian students was noticed, he said.
He said compared to US and UK, the cost of education was lesser by 30 to 40% in Australia. Besides, there were increasing number of job opportunities in that country, he said adding that there was no restriction in foreigners getting jobs there.
