Lok Sabha elections: Voter turnout in fifth phase
States see voter turnout jump in 2014 Lok Sabha elections
Many of the 12 states voting in the fifth phase of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections on Thursday saw voter turnout at polling centres significantly exceed those of the 2009 elections.
Voting was held in 121 constituencies and by Thursday evening, 232 of the 543 Lok Sabha constituencies had completed polling. States that went to the polls on Thursday include Bihar, Chhatisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Odisha, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal
