Politics | Congress disapproves of Tharoor’s remarks
New Delhi: The Congress party on Wednesday disapproved minister of state for external affairs Shashi Tharoor’s remarks in which he allegedly referred to those who travel by economy class as “cattle class".
“The party disapproves of the remarks. He may have used it as a slang, but we find it unacceptable," Congress spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan said. Replying to a question on Twitter, “Tell us minister, next time you travel to Kerala, will it be cattle class?", Tharoor, who came under fire for his stay in private luxury hotel, has commented: “Absolutely, in cattle class, out of solidarity with all our holy cows!"
Tharoor, who is visiting Liberia, was not available for comment.
