9 new cases of swine flu confirmed, total at 89

New Delhi: Union health ministry has reported nine new confirmed cases of swine flu, bringing the country’s total to 89. The ministry said in a statement on Saturday that the cases include a family of four who flew to Bangalore from the US. Four others who landed in New Delhi from the US also tested positive. One person tested positive in Punjab.
The World Health Organization has declared swine flu a pandemic. As of Friday, it said 59,814 cases had been reported worldwide with 263 deaths.
