New Delhi: The Korea Labour Education Institute (KLEI), Kwangju, Republic of Korea and The International Management Institute (IMI), New Delhi have entered into a collaborative arrangement to expand course offerings in the domain of higher education to students in Asia.
CS Venkata Ratnam, director, IMI and Sun, Han Seung , president, Korea Labour Education Institute identified key roles and competencies in establishing a cooperative relationship that would commence in the academic year 2008-09.
The tie-up will help establish a leading labour education system. “By establishing a cooperative system with IMI, KLEI will actively exchange information and enhance the content and quality of education programmes by making every effort to understand diverse education needs.”
As the national centre of labour education, the KLEI has been a leader in providing the evidence of labour-management relations and articulating the rationale for the development and dissemination of labour education through multi-dimensional research.
It also has served as the coordinating agent of the various activities beyond the academia that have been conducted by the institute. Exchange programmes and extensive research projects are expected to emerge out of this partnershp.
