New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday stayed the order of a tribunal asking Reliance Energy Ltd to refund additional electricity charges of at least Rs250 crore levied on Mumbai multiplexes and shopping malls.
A bench headed by justice B.N. Agrawal ordered that the money would not be refunded to the commercial consumers until the final disposal of the case.
Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for Reliance, said that unless the order was stayed, pending adjudication of the case, the company would have to collect funds from regular consumers.
