New Delhi: The government of India through its solicitor general Gopal Subramanium on Thursday clarified in the Supreme Court that ministry of Petroleum and natural gas (MoPNG) and ministry of power(MoP) are not in conflict and there is only one government and MoPNG and MoP are not two separate entities.
The Supreme Court is hearing the case between mukesh Ambani‘s Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Anil Ambani controlled Reliance Natural resources Limited (RNRL)over the supply of gas from the former’s D6 block in the Krishna-Godavari (KG) basin. Subramanium was refuting Reliance Natural resources Limited (RNRL)counsel Ram Jethmalani’s allegation that the government affidavit filed on Wednesday is destructive of NTPC’s rights as NTPC has lost its rights and has now to depend upon mercy of MOPNG.
Subramanium clarified that government of India is not favouring any party and the government respects the Ambani brothers as captains of the Industry and is not averse to a settlement between them.
