Mumbai: India’s monsoon, the main source of irrigation for the country’s 235 million farmers, was less than normal for a second straight week, as the four-month rainy season draws to an end, the weather office said.
The nation received 22mm of rains in the week ended 23 September, compared with the long-period mean of 35.5mm, Surinder Kaur, director at New Delhi-based India Meteorological Department, said.
