Economy | India will aim to cut high budget deficit, says FM

New Delhi: India will aim to cut its high budget deficit as such levels of shortfall are not sustainable, finance minister Pranab Mukherjee said in New Delhi.
The economy will expand more than 6% in the year ending 31 March even though the rainfall this monsoon season is deficient, he said at a meeting organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

PM sets up task force on small-scale sector
New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh announced on Thursday setting up of a high-level task force on micro, small and medium enterprises sector, an official release said.
Singh, who met representatives of the micro, small and medium enterprises sector, assured them that over a period of time, flow of credit will increase commensurate with the financial needs of the sector.
