Politicians should be public servants, not party servants: Schwarzenegger
Schwarzenegger says it's time for new perspectives in politics
New Delhi: I don’t think about politics as running for office. The Presidency is not available because of the constitution and I do not see myself as one of the senators sitting in Washington said Arnold Schwarzenegger, former Governor of California, actor and body builder.
Speaking at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit in New Delhi, Schwarzenegger said, “I am trying to build systems that are good for the people and not for the parties. Politicians must be public servants not party servants. It is time we get new blood in politics and, get rid of the old ways."
Speaking on environment, Arnold said that climate change is a global issue. “It doesn’t matter what country you are from, it is extremely important that we protect the environment." he said. “We are destroying are world. We have to get off fossil fuels as quickly as possible because it is destroying the world. But it is very difficult to make this change," he added.
Referring to America as the land of opportunity he said, “I got involved in the political arena because America was the land of opportunity for me and I wanted to give back to it."
