Loan scam | Mumbai court grants bail to 8 accused

Mumbai: The Mumbai session court on Friday has granted bail to all the 8 accused in the bribe- for-loan scam with a surety amount of Rs2 lakh each. The accused were Naresh K. Chopra, secretary (investment) at LIC; Ramachandran Nair, CEO at LIC Housing Finance; R.N. Tayal, general manager at BoI, Mumbai; Maninder Singh Johar, director (chartered accountant) at Central Bank of India, Mumbai; Venkoba Gujjal, deputy general manager, PNB, New Delhi; Rajesh Sharma, chairman and managing director, Money Matters; and Suresh Gattani and Sanjay Sharma. But, CBI has asked for a fresh hearing on Saturday for three officials of Money Matters Rajesh Sharma, Sanjay Sharma and Suresh Gattani to rearrest them for further questioning.
