RBI sets up panel to study exporters’ concerns

Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday set up a technical committee to study issues related to difficulties being faced by exporters with regard to the availability of credit and transaction costs, among other areas.
The committee will be chaired by RBI executive director G. Padmanabhan and will have members from Exim Bank, Export Credit Guarantee Corp., select banks and trade bodies, the RBI said in a release.
The panel will submit its recommendations by the end of April 2013. Various stakeholders can submit their comments to the panel till 8 February, the release said.
