New Delhi: The government on Monday appointed Rajiv Takru, a 1979 batch officer of the Gujarat cadre, as the revenue secretary in the ministry of finance, in what could be one of the last important appointments by the incumbent government.
Takru, who currently is secretary in the department of financial services, will succeed Sumit Bose, who retires at the end of this month.
The government also appointed Gurdial Singh Sandhu, a 1980 batch officer of the Rajasthan cadre, to succeed Takru as secretary in the department of financial services.
