New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s assets exceed 5 crore including term deposits, two houses and a 1996 make Maruti 800 car as per his declaration made public on Saturday.

Out of 77 members of his council of ministers, assets of five of his colleagues were not available on the PM’s website. These include his cabinet colleague Vilasrao Deshmukh, ministers of state with independent charge Krishna Tirath and Jayanthi Natarajan and ministers of state Jitender Singh and S Jagathrakshakan.

Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee has assets worth 1.25 crore including a flat each in Munirka in the capital and Kolkata.

His moveable properties include a Ford Ikon car of 2000 make and savings accounts.

Corporate affairs minister M Veerappa Moily has perhaps the most modest assets among cabinet ministers with no moveable property and cash in hand and bank accounts worth over 13.33 lakh.

As for the PM’s declaration, he has no agricultural or non-agricultural land. He has residential house in Chandigarh with current market value of 90 lakh.

Singh also has a flat in Delhi’s posh Vasant Kunj area with the current market value of 88.67 lakh.

The PM’s wife Gursharan Kaur has over 11 lakh in saving account in State Bank of Patiala, Chandigarh.

He also has term and bank deposits in various banks totalling around 3.22 crore.

Home minister P Chidambaram along with his wife have assets to the tune of 23.67 crore, with Chidambaram alone owning assets of 11.14 crore, which include fixed deposits and interest thereof to the tune of 1.29 crore in various banks.

Among the immovable assets owned by him include a coffee estate in Kodagu worth 28.95 lakh, besides other assets worth 62.26 lakh which includes a Skoda car worth 22.15 lakh, a Volkswagen car worth 16.24 lakh and a Ford Fiesta car worth 7.71 lakh. He also owns a cycle worth 1,239 and a Kinetic Honda worth 27,685.

His wife Nalini Chidambaram, however, owns land and buildings in Managiri, Sukkanenthal village worth 2.66 crore and agricultural land in Muttucaud/Kanathur worth 27.41 lakh and a house in Karaikudi worth 12.68 lakh. She also owns a coffee estate worth 1.18 crore, a house in Sivaganga worth 12 lakh and land in Managiri worth 11.2 lakh.

While Chidambaram himself possesses jewellery worth only 65,955, his wife possesses it worth 7.75 lakh.

Defence minister A K Antony has total assets worth 39.15 lakh jointly owned with his wife. Antony himself does not own any house or property or even a vehicle and has saving fund deposits worth only 1.82 lakh.

Power minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has assets worth 7.75 crore, while his wife owns assets of over 4.5 crore. Shinde owns a house in Solapur worth 50 lakh, a flat in Bandra in Mumbai worth 1.99 crore, a flat in Munirka Vihar, New Delhi worth 1.25 crore and a farm house in Solapur worth 19.76 lakh.

External affairs minister S M Krishna is worth 1.76 crore, with fixed assets worth 56.16 lakh. His wife owns assets worth 1.10 crore.
