Bhopal: A Special Economic Zone (SEZ) spread across 7561.74 acres of land will be set up at Dabra near Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh for setting up an aviation city, air-cargo hub, agro-products companies and townships.
The decision to set up an SEZ near Dabra was taken by the State Cabinet at its meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan yesterday, an official release said.
The SEZ will be developed by Gwalior Agriculture Company under the state government’s ‘Project Tiger Leap´, it said. In the initial stages an investment of Rs1200 crore is proposed in the SEZ.
This will have an aviation hub for repairing planes, a cargo-logistic hub, food-processing park, knowledge city township, bio-technology park, bio-technology extension farms, agriculture equipment units, dairy and poultry products among others.
A total of one lakh jobs are expected to be generated in the SEZ in next 5-6 years.
