Govt shortlists 2 names for NSC chairman’s post
New Delhi: The government has shortlisted two names for the post of chairman of the National Statistical Commission (NSC). The post is lying vacant since Prime Minister’s economic advisory council chairman Suresh Tendulkar retired in February.
The appointment committee of cabinet has shortlisted the names of former director of Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research R. Radhakrishna and Delhi School of Economics professor K. Sundaram.
“The two names have been sent to the Prime Minister who will make the final selection," a senior government official said.
