Setback for O.P Chautala in the SC
The Supreme Court dismissed the bail plea and an appeal challenging the Delhi HC conviction of Om Prakash Chautala accused in the teachers' recruitment scam
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed the bail plea and an appeal challenging the Delhi high court conviction of former Haryana chief minister and Indian National Lok Dal leader Om Prakash Chautala and 10 other accused in the teachers’ recruitment scam.
Chautala’s lawyer Harish Salve argued that the accused must be given bail on medical grounds considering his age.
A bench consisting of justices Fakkir Mohamed Ibrahim Kalifulla and S.K Singh ordered the petitioners to move the appropriate forum, which would be the Delhi high Court while dismissing the petitions.
