India and SouthEast Asia focused private equity firm Everstone Capital, on Friday, said it hired Vibhor Kumar Talreja as a managing director to lead the firm’s investments in the financial services sector, among other responsibilities.
Prior to this role, Talreja worked as a director in the India team of Singapore's state investment arm Temasek. There, he led decision making for deals over $2 billion each on both private and public transactions across financial services, industrials, consumer, real estate and telecom sectors..
Talreja is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and IIM Bangalore, and has also worked with firms such as JM Morgan Stanley and Tata Administrative Services, before his stint at Temasek.
At Everstone, Talreja would work from its Mumbai office.
PE firm Everstone Capital manages assets of over $5 billion across private equity, real estate, green infrastructure and venture capital.
Since last year, it has been on a hiring spree to re-orient itself to a more sector-based approach, instead of focusing on geographies.
In 12 November 2018, Mint reported that Everstone was in the process of hiring a managing director for financial services.
The PE firm had appointed UK-based Kiddy and Partners to assist with the restructuring of its private equity business and the organization’s review system last year.
