New Delhi: Women’s e-commerce website LimeRoad, owned by AM Marketplaces Pvt. Ltd, said on Tuesday it raised $15 million in its second round of funding led by New York-based Tiger Global Management with participation from existing investors Lightspeed Venture Partners and Matrix Partners India.
“The money will largely go towards building a strong team, intelligent marketing and technology in order to enhance the user experience," said Limeroad.com chief executive officer (CEO) Suchi Mukherjee in a press statement.
Tiger Global, which has investments in e-commerce portals such as Flipkart and Myntra, could not be reached for comment immediately.
Limeroad first raised $5 million from Matrix Partners and Lightspeed Venture in October 2012. The company was set up by Suchi Mukherjee, Prashant Malik, Manish Saksena and Ankush Mehra as an e-commerce firm for women with features similar to websites that allow shoppers to get opinions from friends online before finally buying a good.
