Milestone and Religare have agreed to sell their 100% shareholding to Quadria Capital
Mumbai: Quadria Capital Investment Advisors, an Asia-focused healthcare private equity (PE) fund, has acquired Milestone Religare Investment Advisors Pvt. Ltd, which runs a 410-crore healthcare and education fund. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Milestone Religare Investment Advisors is an equal joint venture between Milestone Capital and Religare Venture Capital and was established by late Ved Arya to invest in growth-stage healthcare and education companies.
Religare Global is an investor, or limited partner, in Quadria.
Milestone and Religare have agreed to sell their 100% shareholding to Quadria Capital, which is owned by Amit Varma.
Varma has been involved with Milestone Religare from its inception as its operational head and as part of the investment committee and its board of directors.
After the transaction is completed, Milestone Religare Investment Advisors will be renamed Quadria Investment Advisors Pvt. Ltd and will continue to supervise the fund in its existing form and shape.
“We are very pleased that Dr. Amit Varma who has been part of the fund from its inception has stepped up to take the ownership and management responsibility of the entire fund," said Shachindra Nath, group chief executive of Religare.
“This is a joint decision made by both venture partners Religare and Milestone. We believe Quadria is best suited to now steer the fund to give the best return to investors," said Rubi Arya, board member at Milestone Religare.
