L&T Construction bags `3,700 cr orders in March

Has secured new orders worth `1,986 crore for construction of residential towers and commercial development

New Delhi: Larsen and Toubro Ltd (L&T) on Tuesday said its construction division secured new orders valued at over 3,700 crore across various business segments in March 2013.

“The building and factories business has bagged new orders worth 1,986 crore for the construction of residential towers and commercial development across India," the company said in a statement.

The power transmission and distribution business has secured new orders worth 1,097 crore, it said adding a major order was secured from Punjab State Power Corp. Ltd for the execution of R-APDRP (Part B) Project on turnkey basis at Amritsar, Jalandhar and Ludhiana city.

The company said another order was received from Power Grid Corp. of India Ltd for construction of a 400kV pooling station at Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu.

The company’s solar business unit, the largest EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) player in solar power projects sector in India, has won new orders worth 373 crore for the construction of solar photovoltaic plants in Rajasthan and Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, the statement said.

Additional orders worth 244 crore have been bagged from various ongoing jobs in the infrastructure and metallurgical and material handling business.
