Govt decides to provide Ambani with Z category security after a detailed threat assessment

New Delhi: The union home ministry said on Monday that Reliance Industries Ltd. chairman Mukesh Ambani will pay for the security provided to him by the government.
The government decided to provide him with so-called Z category security, which comprises 28 armed policemen belonging to a central paramilitary force, after a detailed threat assessment. The government didn’t disclose the amount that will be charged from the billionaire. Officials in the ministry said the amount could be Rs12-15 lakh per month.
Ambani is not the first private individual to be provided such security.
