Mumbai: Sapience Analytics Pvt. Ltd, a workforce management software maker, said it has raised 45 crore from Orios Venture Partners to expand its product portfolio and spend on marketing initiatives.

The Pune-based start-up had earlier raised an undisclosed sum from Indian Angel Network and Seed Enterprises in 2011.

Sapience sells software to improve employee productivity to more than 60 clients and has over 100,000 users across seven countries. In India, the company’s customers include Zensar Technologies Pvt. Ltd, KPIT Technologies Ltd and Clarion Technologies Pvt. Ltd.

“Our customers are realising an over 20% gain in productivity and the ability to sustain optimal delivery outcome through improved quality of effort," Shirish Deodhar, co-founder and chief executive of Sapience, said in a statement on Tuesday.

This is the second investment for Orios Venture Partners, a 300 crore venture capital fund floated by early-stage investor Rehan Yar Khan. The fund plans to invest 50 lakh to 20 crore in eight to 10 technology companies.

The fund made its first investment in Ziffi.com—a Mumbai-based appointment-booking website. It has invested about 15 crore in Ziffi.com, Mint reported on 29 September.
