Bengaluru: Practo Technologies Pvt. Ltd has tied up with ride-hailing service Uber Technologies in a global partnership that will allow users of the doctor discovery platform to book rides for doctors’ appointments.
Practo users in India, Indonesia, the Philippines and Singapore who book appointments on its app will be able to hire Uber taxis by clicking on the reminder alerts for their appointments, the company said in a statement.
The partnership will roll out to other countries as both Practo and Uber expand in new markets, it said.
“The technology integration through this partnership reflects our common commitment to create a seamless experience for all our users,” said Amit Jain, president of Uber India.
The partnership will allow Uber to reach out to a wider set of consumers.
Singapore-based Practo, backed by large investors such as Tencent, Sequoia Capital and Matrix Partners, is the leader in the booming market for online healthcare services. The company has been expanding its international presence at a fast pace and plans to be in 10 countries, including Brazil, Turkey, Mexico, Indonesia and Malaysia, by the end of the financial year.
