Horlicks withdraws nomination of Simon Scarff as chairman of the company’s board

New Delhi: GlaxoSmithkline Consumer Healthcare Ltd on Thursday said the company’s board has appointed Subodh Bhargava as its chairman with effect from 1 May 2013.
“Horlicks Ltd has appointed Subodh Bhargava as a director on the board. Further, the board has appointed Subodh Bhargava as the chairman of the board," GSKCH said in a filing to the BSE.
The company said Horlicks has withdrawn the nomination of Simon Scarff as the chairman of the company’s board with effect from 30 April 2013. The board of directors of the company at its meeting held on 1 May 2013, has noted the withdrawal of nomination by Horlicks Ltd of Simon Scarff as the director of the company and as the chairman of the board, it added.
The company’s board also accepted the resignation of Subodh Bhargava as an elected director, it added.
GSKCH, an associate of UK-based GlaxoSmithKline, has manufacturing plants located in Nabha, Rajahmundry and Sonepat. It’s well known brands include, Horlicks, Boost, Eno, Crocin, Iodex and Sensodyne.
