New Delhi: Online dating app TrulyMadly on Monday said it had raised ₹ 35 crore in fresh capital from Helion Venture Partners and Kae Capital.
Founded by Sachin Bhatia, Hitesh Dhingra and Rahul Kumar in August 2014, TrulyMadly is a mobile app that lets singles discover each other through shared interests and personality profiles.
“The Indian society is fast transforming and online dating is increasingly becoming acceptable. TrulyMadly is rightly positioned to ride the online dating boom," said Ritesh Banglani of Helion Venture Partners.
According to the company, the app is growing 100% month on month in terms of downloads, with women making up over 35% of all users.
“The team’s focus on creating an app for singles, keeping verification and compatibility in mind, is what attracted us to invest in TrulyMadly. We are happy to partner with the frontrunners in a rapidly growing market for online dating," said Sasha Mirchandani at Kae Capital.
TrulyMadly has also received angel investments from Deep Kalra, founder and group chief executive officer (CEO) of MakeMyTrip, and Rajesh Magow, CEO of the online travel firm’s Indian operation.
