Jai Menon, ex-CIO Bharti Enterprises, joins HT Media
Menon will spearhead technology across all business lines including mobile, applications, digital infrastructure, analytics, big data, social and cloud
New Delhi: Jai Menon, former chief information officer with Bharti Enterprises, has joined the leadership team of HT Media Ltd as group director, technology, Rajiv Verma, chief executive of HT Media Ltd, announced in a statement on Friday.
Menon joins HT after more than a decade at the country’s largest communications service provider, spearheading many of its customer management systems and IT services. He is considered the driver of Airtel’s hugely successful 10-year $750 million outsourcing deal with IBM.
“A top ranked alumnus of IIT-Delhi, he started his career at IBM’s T. J. Watson Research Labs, USA and rose to become an IBM executive where he assumed the office of Executive Director in IBM’s Software Group, leading worldwide research-to-market business for rich media. He has also served as Corporate Officer and Executive Vice President at AT&T (formerly BellSouth), USA where he managed a portfolio of growth businesses and strategic alliances," the statement from HT Media said.

He also has more than 30 patents to his name, acquired prior to joining Bharti.
