New Delhi: The lobby group Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) on Thursday re-elected Sanjay Kapoor as its chairperson.
Kapoor is the chief executive of India and South Asia at Bhati Airtel Ltd.
COAI, which represents GSM technology-based telecom service providers, also unanimously elected Himanshu Kapania, managing director, Idea Cellular Ltd, as vice chairperson in the annual elections.
Kapoor had succeeded Sunita Reddy, fomer chairperson of Aircel Ltd, in last year’s election.
COAI said in a statement that Kapoor’s biggest challenge in the coming year will be to restore the financial health of the telecom industry.
