Mumbai: Tata Sons Ltd on Wednesday said it has named Farida Khambata and Ronen Sen as non-executive independent directors on its board.
Khambata is global strategist at Cartica Management Llc and a member of its investment committee while Sen is India’s former ambassador to the US, the holding company of Tata Group companies said in a statement.
Prior to joining Cartica, Khambata was a member of International Finance Corp.’s (IFC) management group, the senior leadership team of IFC.
Cartica Management is an alternative asset manager focused exclusively on emerging markets.
In her last position at IFC, she served as regional vice-president in charge of all operations in East Asia and the Pacific, South Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean and the global manufacturing cluster.
Sen was India’s ambassador to the US from 2004 to 2009. He was previously ambassador to Mexico (1991-92), Russian Federation (1992-98), and the Federal Republic of Germany (1998-2002), and served as high commissioner to the UK and Northern Ireland (2002-04).
Sixty six per cent of the equity of Tata Sons, the promoter holding company, is held by philanthropic trusts.
Founded by Jamsetji Tata in 1868, the Tata group consists of more than 100 operating companies, with operations in more than 100 countries across six continents.
