Fewer Indian firms make Forbes’ list
New Delhi: The number of Indian firms featured in Forbes’ ‘Asia’s 200 Best under a Billion’ list decreased to 17, as compared with last year’s 23.
The list focuses on companies with less than $1 billion (Rs3,956 crore) in sales that have recorded growth in sales and profits over three years. This year, it includes Dabur India Ltd, Pantaloon Retail (India) Ltd, Cipla Healthcare Ltd and Asian Paints (India) Ltd, among others. The list features companies from 14 countries from Asia and the Pacific region. Besides India, the list covered China, Australia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and New Zealand.
Bharat Bijlee, Divi’s Laboratories, Elder Pharmaceuticals, Era Infrastructure & Engineering, ICSA, Infotech Enterprises, IPCA Laboratories, NIIT Technologies, NRB Bearings, Nucleus Software and Thermax are among those that found a place this year.
The outgoing companies include Bajaj Hindustan, Bharat Forge, Sesa Goa and Cadila Healthcare.
