Volkswagen India sees change of guard

Mumbai: Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd has appointed Andreas Lauermann president and managing director with effect from 1 July, the company said in a statement on Wednesday. He will succeed Mahesh Kodumudi, who moves to Volkswagen group of America.

Lauermann, 53, started his career with TCW Tranfer-Centrum in Munich before joining Volkswagen AG in 1997. He has held several positions across various functions, including industrial engineering, planning, production and strategies, at Volkswagen.

Kodumudi, 49, has led Volkswagen India since 1 March 2013. He joined the Volkswagen group in 2008 and was appointed executive director-corporate purchase, Volkswagen India, the same year.
