Jayant Krishna appointed interim CEO of NSDC

Krishna comes on deputation from TCSand will be heading the body until the NSDC board finds a permanent arrangement

New Delhi: The National Skill Development Corp. (NSDC) Tuesday named Jayant Krishna, a special consultant to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Ltd, as its interim chief executive officer.

NSDC, a public-private partnership under the ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship, has been headless for a month since Dilip Chenoy resigned from the post of its managing director and chief executive.

Krishna comes on deputation from TCS and will be heading the body until the NSDC board finds a permanent arrangement, said the corporation mandated to train 150 million people in skills via its partners by 2022.

Krishna has an industry experience of over 29 years and has been actively engaged on apprenticeship reform in India and leads a Confederation of Indian Industry task force on the same.

Chairman of the NSDC board S. Ramadorai, on 4 November said he has started the process of finding new a CEO and chief operating officer (COO).

In the first week of October, both CEO and COO of NSDC resigned and on 13 October, the corporation’s board accepted the resignations of CEO Chenoy and COO Atul Bhatnagar.
