Microsoft India appoints Rajan Anandan as the new managing director
Bangalore: Microsoft India Pvt Ltd, the India unit of the world’s largest software maker has appointed Rajan Anandan, as the managing director and head its sales marketing and services business in India, among the fastest growing markets for the firm.
Anandan, a former country manager for the India business of Dell Inc, replaces Neelam Dhawan, who recently moved to lead the local business of Hewlett Packard Co. Under his leadership Dell grew its India revenues from $250 million to over $800 million in three years. Anandan will report to Microsoft India chairman Ravi Venkatesan.
Microsoft also appointed Jaspreet Bindra as the head of the Entertainment and Devices division in India, elevating him from the current role of country manager of Online Services Group.
India has emerged as a key hub for Microsoft’s emerging markets strategy both from a talent and market perspective. With over 5,000 employees across three campuses and 13 offices, Microsoft India is currently the only area outside of the US to have full representation from Microsoft product lifecycle through six business units ranging from research to support.
