Jet to discontinue JetLite brand

New Delhi: Jet Airways (India) Ltd’s low-fare unit JetLite will be renamed JetKonnect starting 25 March as the money-losing carrier seeks to focus its resources on fewer brands.

“Jet Airways will consolidate its low-fare service products under the JetKonnect brand to simplify the group’s service proposition and enhance brand recall," the airline said in a statement on Monday. “Effective 25 March the erstwhile JetLite and Jet Airways Konnect services will operate under the JetKonnect brand."

JetKonnect will be the dedicated low-fare service with a mixed fleet of Boeings and ATR aircraft operating on metro, tier II and III routes.

“The decision was made to streamline our product portfolio and offer our guests a single superior inflight product in the full-service and low-fare categories respectively, drawing synergies from the Jet Airways mother brand," said Sudheer Raghavan, chief commercial officer at Jet Airways.
