Mumbai: Maruti Suzuki India Ltd’s domestic sales rose 1.6% in June to 102,626 units compared with a year ago, the company said in a statement on Wednesday. The sales were dragged down by a 27.39% decline in the mini segment that comprises Wagon R, Alto among other models.

Sales of the company’s compact car models, including Swift , Ritz and Celerio, advanced 24.4% to 45,701 units compared with the previous year.

Meanwhile, the company’s overseas shipment rose 2.7% to 12,130 units over last year.

Car sales in India have been rising for almost every month since June last year. The growth, however, has primarily been led by top five auto makers in India.
