Mumbai: Global technology-based solutions and agricultural products provider Monsanto Co. on Thursday appointed Shilpa Divekar Nirula as the chief executive officer (CEO) for its business across India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka and managing director of Monsanto India Ltd (MIL).
Nirula will assume responsibility from Gyanendra Shukla for both these roles from 1 September, Monsanto said in a release issued here.
She is an accomplished professional with over 18 years of experience across consulting, and food and agriculture sectors.
“Nirula’s breadth of experience and understanding of agriculture in India will bring valuable perspective to deepen Monsanto’s commitment to India,” Shukla said.
Shukla will transition as regional lead of Monsanto’s Africa Region.
He will lead Monsanto’s efforts to transform agriculture in Africa, the statement said.
