Mumbai: Bharti Airtel Ltd on Wednesday said one of its promoters Bharti Telecom has acquired over 8,00,000 shares of the company worth around 26.75 crore through market transactions.

Bharti Telecom has bought 8,78,514 shares in Bharti Airtel worth around 26.75 crore, the telecom company said in a filing to the BSE.

These shares were bought through three different market transactions on 18-19 March, the filing added.

After the transaction, the shareholding of Bharti Telecom in the company has increased to 45.72% from 45.70%, the filing said.

Shares of Bharti Airtel on Wednesday fell by over 4% to close at 281.15 on the BSE a day after a Delhi court summoned as accused the company’s chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal in a case pertaining to allocation of additional spectrum to mobile operators.
