HUL’s Samir Singh to head skin cleansing unit at Unilever
Singh has consolidated HUL's position as India's largest personal care company, and also driven it to become one of the fastest growing beauty businesses
Mumbai: Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL), the country’s largest packaged goods company by sales, announced on Friday that Samir Singh, vice president and executive director-personal care, at the Indian unit of Unilever Plc, has been elevated as the global executive vice president-skin cleansing of the Anglo-Dutch company.
Sandeep Kohli, vice president-Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos, will succeed Singh at HUL.
Singh has not just consolidated HUL’s position as the country’s largest personal care company, he has also driven it to become one of India’s fastest growing beauty businesses, the company said in a press statement.
In the past executives from the Indian arm who have moved into global roles include HUL’s finance chief Sridhar Ramamurthy, vice president-human resources Leena Nair and chief executive officer Nitin Paranjpe.
“The new appointments reflect the company’s commitment towards leadership development and our tradition of leveraging talent across markets. This also emphasises the importance of HUL and of India for Unilever," said Sanjiv Mehta, managing director and chief executive officer, HUL.
