SC asks Delhi high court to resolve Gammon-DMRC tender dispute
Delhi high court has been asked to hear Gammon's petition which claims it was unfairly barred from a project on the Delhi Metro's Ghaziabad line
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday asked the Delhi high court to start hearing a petition filed by Gammon India Ltd which claimed it had unfairly barred from a project on the Delhi Metro’s Ghaziabad line.
Gammon has claimed that its financial bid in the tender process was not considered.
The court also asked for a status quo on the ₹ 665 crore project, which is being executed by a joint venture of Tata Projects Ltd and Guangdong Yuantian Engineering Co. of China, which are also parties to the case. They told the court that they had already started work, but it will remain stayed till the high court resolves the dispute.
A bench headed by justice T.S. Thakur asked the issue to be resolved by the high court so that it was not “vague and uncertain".
The high court will begin hearing the case from 25 February.
