Mumbai: Financial services firm Avendus Capital has appointed R.S. Sharma, a former chairman and managing director of Oil and Natural Gas Corp. Ltd (ONGC), to its board.

“His deep knowledge of the global economy and business, as well as unique experience as the CEO of one of India’s leading enterprise will be of immense value to Avendus," said Ranu Vohra, CEO and managing director of Mumbai-based Avendus Capital.
Avendus closed deals worth $2.2 billion in 2011.
